A family is invited to spend an entire weekend in a lonely house in the countryside, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that a dark side lies within the family that invited them.. Blumhouse Productions has been a major force in the horror genre since 2007 when “ Paranormal phenomenon” became a world sensation. The story is inspired by the experience of Christian Tadrup, the director of the original Danish film “Say No Evil” (2022), who befriended a Dutch couple while on vacation in Tuscany with his wife. Although the Dutch were a little awkward in communication, both couples got along very well, and after returning home, Tafdrup received an invitation from a Dutch family to come to the Netherlands. He thought about it for a while, but decided that he would feel strange staying with people he didn’t really know; his story for the film arose when he gave free rein to his darkest fantasies about what might happen if he agreed (while maintaining that the original Dutch couple never caused any bad emotions).

In this remake, the nationalities of the two families were changed to American and British.. The main difference?
Finally a victory for Blumhouse after a year of mediocre films and outright failures. Who would have thought that the American remake of the film, which is barely two years old, and which is already 80% in English, will be the salvation of the studio? But here he is. This version is infinitely better, less annoying and, dare I say it, really satisfying. James McAvoy is a force.
The biggest improvement?
Honestly, just put this guy in every horror movie from now on, especially if he’s a villain. He’s so good at it that you can almost hear him whisper, “Watch me steal every damn wall.” And, of course, he does it. In everyone. Time.Speak No Evil is one of the best horror films of the year, in my opinion. Characters who really deserve to root for them.
Blumhouse, bow down — you finally did something right!
Okay, they’re a little silly in the first third, but at least they wise up before you lose all hope, except for one particular person.
