My Pledge was written by Grace VanderWaal This movie reminded me of The Room and Adam Driver’s performance was like Tommy Wiseau. Terrible dialogue and bad writing that he can’t fake. Since this was filmed during the pandemic, I wonder if they met before they were cast or zoomed. I’m betting now that Adam Driver, Nathalie Emmanuel and Aubrey Plaza will get Razzie nominations and maybe even win.
This was pretentious, shallow and a waste of money
I have never seen such a “genius” before; A bunch of actors are so lacking in self-awareness that they embarrass themselves and make us wonder if they’re really that good. I walked out before the end because I couldn’t stand the bad dialogue, it was like actors talking to a wall, having learned their lines 5 minutes before. That opening speech to Hamlet is one of the worst speeches I have ever seen. The cinematography looked like a 2003 made-for-TV movie edited on Windows 95.
