Great performances by everyone
After the disappointing fourth season of Jack Ryan and generally mediocre shows, this felt much better in every way. It feels really well done, and the action and fight scenes look amazing. I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments section comes down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole female operator thing, and as a guy, I don’t care about a good action show.
For women, this is an original IP that doesn’t turn the male protagonist into a woman
Also, I haven’t seen any red flags like all the men looking incompetent or anything like that so far. I also initially thought it would be more of an action, no-nonsense show, but then they got a little more into the family and I’m mostly embarrassed by that, but I didn’t like what they did there. My only criticism is that the plotting that this particular group of cameramen is doing is very limiting to the story and could kill it by moving away from the plot/villainy of the season…
We’ll see what the great Morgan Freeman brings to the show
it needs to be more inclusive so they can create a new Homeland with more action and a fast pace, otherwise it risks becoming too episodic like The Blacklist. PS: So far Nicole Kidman’s role is incredibly small and unfulfilling, anyone else could have done it… But from what I’ve seen so far, the show could stand alone with Zaldana without any other A-Listers.
It’s fun, even if it’s not the History Channel show that some commentators prefer
TLDR Overall, cautiously optimistic, but I like what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done.
