A stunning drama directed by Chinese director Hu Guan, so it’s no wonder it won the top honor in the Un Certain Regard section at Cannes this year. The story revolves around a young boy who, after a stint in prison, returns home and takes a job ridding a town of stray dogs in time for the Olympics.
The drama is set on the edge of the Gobi Desert in northwest China
However, he unexpectedly forms a bond with a black dog and the two set off on a new adventure. The film’s lead dog has previously taken home a dog award when he received the Palm Dog Grand Jury Award!
